Most of the current relationships are developed online with no physical meeting, which would be considered as the lesser impact of social media in our society. Software developers are increasingly providing dating sites which are progressively increasing the rate of online dating. This has caused many individuals to do away with their real-life relationships in appreciation of online dating. As Stonard, Erica, and Walker (2015) stated, â€Å"Mostly individuals with low levels of satisfaction seek to join in social media in order to approve their physiological well-being†. Individuals are currently concerned with responses they receive from social media concerning their lives. People will always post their positive sides or achievements on social media thus creating a challenge to less fortunate, creating dissatisfaction within them and feeling inferior in their relationship achievements. As people feel dissatisfied with their current or real-life situation, they tend to turn more on social media thus facilitating to more of online rather than physical relationship. â€Å"Spending more time on the internet to keep away from life dissatisfactions is seen as a significant factor increasing the possibility of problematic internet use† ((Sahin, 2017). Increase in social media connection among individuals increases physical disconnections among individuals. The issue of cyberbullying among youths is increasing at a higher rate in modern American society. In the world we are living in, people are highly appreciating social media approvals more that they consider their real-life friends. This is the main cause of cyberbullying as personal life is shaped on the basis of social media. â€Å"It occurs among individuals whose relationship is characterized by power imbalance† ((Stonard, et al. 2015). The social media and real-life balance are developing as a major problem among young adults. It is even becoming hard for the family to come together and discuss matters patterning them due to social media effects. Cyberbullying and negative feedback from social media always lead to negativity and low self-esteem among youths. Social media poses a challenge among individuals as one try to think that they are better than others, damaging their ego and positivity toward life. The major challenge America is currently facing is in trying to campaign on balancing the social media and personal relationships. Many people have been taking social media as a leisure activity especially when they are bored and want the day to go fast. Many people will prioritize social media relationship while putting off the aspect of real-life relationships. Within this logos-driven passage, however, is a strong emotional appeal. The factual representation of what happened in these cases is corrupt within itself, and through his wording, Douglass attacks slavery and the acts of his master. Laws themselves made slaveholders the slave’s fathers, and Douglass exposes the inhumane concept of being born into slavery. In some ways, Douglass’ message of the cruelty in slavery is most effectively portrayed through his word choice and language, rather than the actual presentation of evidence. At one point, after witnessing several acts of extreme violence towards slave, and even some murders, Douglass sums up the events with a common phrase among slave holders, â€Å"it was worth a half cent to kill a nigger, and a half cent to bury one.† While this may not be an actual fact, it is very logical, and shows why the courts would never convict a white man for murdering a slave. By choosing to use this statement, it shows how well Douglass understands his surrounding, and how corrupt and violent they are. Once these ideas are arranged, the actual writing of the paper may begin. Once I finish what I feel completes a paragraph, I reread the paragraph, and then reread the entire document. I believe that my vocabulary is the strongest part of my writing ability. I am an avid reader and I feel that my diction and vocabulary are a result of my dietary experience.The weakest point of my writing ability is my lack of transitions in my writing. When I think of what to write, I visualize the thoughts as bullet points, and feel that my writing occasionally feels like am listing these bullet points without a transition to flow from one point to the next. I believe that the best writing assignment I have produced this semester is my Milestone 6, which is the proposal for my redesign of a whole-house water purification system.I believe this was my best assignment because it was the most organized and thought-out of all of my assignments. Since most of the sections that comprise the proposal were completed in some form or another in the previous assignments, all I had to do was adapt the previous assignments to the format of the proposal and write the remaining parts of the proposal. TO fulfill a requirement of Technical Communications, I set up an appointment at the university of Houston Writing Center. I met with a graduate student majoring in English to help me edit the proposal. Allowed the suggestions of the graduate student that assisted me, and when I had completed the assignment felt very confident in the quality of the assignment. I believe that my worst writing assignment was my Milestone 7, which is the progress report. I had put this particular assignment off longer than was prudent, and, as a result, did not have the time or patience for writing that normally have. It had too many mistakes and felt rushed. I feel that could have done better on that assignment. After I graduate, I will begin my career as an engineer.As an engineer, writing will of coursed be involved for about 40% of my day. Will have to write reports, notes, memos, presentations and many other types of documents. I understand that it is critical for engineers to be precise and clear in their writing. Feel confident in my ability to complete these various writing tasks. I am also sure of my public speaking skills.
